AI technology has given us another first: a robot soccer league in China!
The ROBO League had a tournament in Beijing with the robots going at it 3v3. They used preprogrammed soccer strategies to try to win, and the first matchup had Tsinghua University's robotics team beat China Agricultural University's Mountain Sea team 5-3.
While there's clearly a long way to go on this, it's pretty wild to see robots playing each other in soccer! What sport will be next? And when will we be able to gamble on robot soccer matches?
